Remixing media for Web 2.0

I’ve often been troubled by assumptions about how Web 2.0 will improve our lives and change everything. Most of these assumptions were made about Web 1.0 or even earlier when cultural theorists used to think that deconstruction would be a radical force in criticism. All these assumptions were based on cultural lag — that as long as the Powers That Be didn’t know about the [insert new item] here that ordinary people would be able to get a leg up for once.

I now introduce Item A in the why-you-should-not-assume-that-the-Power-doesnt-fight-back dept.:
