Looking at the list, it’s a who’s who of many of the big hitters in the non-profit tech community. Many of them are from agencies that have strong advocacy departments that really need their CRMs to start integrating with the rest of their software. What isn’t surprising are all the people who are NOT on the list.
Let’s start with the biggest — BLACKBAUD. Salesforce.com foundation is already on the list. My dream here is that Shaun Sullivan puts his name to the list, hehe.
But what’s really the biggest shame here? There’s an amazingly few social service agencies on the list. I’m stretching the category to include CHAMP and American Friends Service Committee. We need more of those up there. Apparently, salt-of-the-earth nonprofits don’t breathe the rarefied air of open API techies. And this is why I want to sign up my org so that I can keep going what little momentum there is from my side of the sector. More news on that next week!
