When I first discussed Google Checkout for Nonprofits and when I revisited it, it was offered for free to nonprofits until the end of 2008. Well, it’s 2009 already and apparently, it’s still free:
Google is currently in the process of reviewing our Checkout for Non Profit program and will soon announce our 2009 policy adjustments. In the meantime, Checkout continues to be free of monthly, setup, or gateway fees and will continue to be free of transaction processing for verified non-profit Google Checkout merchants until this announcement is made.
My source at Google Checkout tells me that an announcement will be made possibly next week. Stay tuned as I’m very curious as to how this plays out as I use Google Checkout for Nonprofit over at socialmarkets.org. I hope that they present THEIR annual results as well just as Blackbaud and Network for Good has.

socialmarkets.org looks really interesting, can't wait to see it with some data added. I'm also very curious to see how the extra 10% for you, 15% for the non-profit optional added donation works out!
Thanks Ryan, I'm very curious myself. We'll be adding the data soon but we have a few more features to add.
I am glad I was able to find this blog. This is exactly what I needed. Its good to see that there is information available for individuals trying to enhance their non-profits. I myself am trying to be more open and honest about my project. Social entrepreneurship is not easy, but this does make it somewhat better.
Thanks for the comment, Lauri. For more information like this, do a search on Google for "nonprofit tech", "nonprofit technology" or "nptech". You can also use the non-profit search engine. It only searches links in the nonprofit world. You'll find the search results to be very different from Google.
