Ever have to help people post pics on their web sites?

Snipshot LogoAnd you ended up having to teach them about resizing photos as well as the concept of screen vs. print resolution AND proportional sizing? I suggest you send them straight to snipshot.com.

It’s a web-based photo editor that’s simple enough that you can use it to teach people how to properly edit their photos in a non-destructive manner. It still needs a bit of work such as the ability to type in auto-constrained pixel sizes that maintain the aspect ratio of a picture but it’s still far better than having to ask people to buy Photoshop or install Gimp just to resize a picture.

I got this tip from Ryan Ozimek of picnet.net. Thanks Rya n! In return, I gave him a link to meebo.com. It’s my permanent Trillian replacement.

How relevant was this post to you?

Thankfully, my nonprofit uses TYPO3. Images are automatically resized. Graphical menus are automatically generated. We even generate header images with text on them. I’d hate to have to explain how to do all these things in other programs.
