Convio Client Summit October 17-19, 2007

Convio Logo

Just in case you missed this on Friday, Convio “announced its second annual client conference, Convio Summit 2007, October 17-19, in Austin, TX.” The most important part of the annoucement was this:

In addition to interactive educational sessions and presentations on new ideas and technologies, the 2007 Summit will provide sessions specific to Convio’s native and GetActive platform clients. The “Getting Active with Convio” sessions will focus on the needs of clients who have joined the Convio community as a result of the recent successful acquisition of GetActive Software, Inc. All participants will have the opportunity to participate in networking, share success stories and lessons learned.

That’s six months away. Am I to assume that any integrations won’t be complete even at that late date? Anyone have any word about this? I have to admit I haven’t followed this issue too closely lately but even for me six months seems to stand out.

We recently hosted two Webinars to review the migration/integration plans with our clients. Our goal is to provide clients an overall gain in functionality with their migration to Convio platform. To accomplish this goal we are working with clients to determine the appropriate timing of their migration based on a client’s use of the tools and our plans for feature development. Our product plans for 2007 and 2008 will incorporate GetActive’s best features with Convio’s eCRM platform, bringing clients the best of both companies over time.

Our Account Managers are working one-on-one with clients to develop migration plans and timing that helps ensure client success. By the time we hold our Convio Client Summit in mid-October, many clients will have migrated from the GetActive platform to the Convio platform but others will be in the middle of campaigns or have different needs based on the criteria below and choose not to migrate until a later date. Since some clients will still be operating on the GetActive platform at the time of the Summit, we will have sessions specifically designed for them to get the most out of their systems, while sharing best practices and ideas for even more success in the future.

Convio intends to set the industry standard for successful integration. We are working with clients collaboratively to help them gain functionality and securing the resources for success. The timing of a client’s migration will be made in consultation with them based on a number of criteria, including:

    – The new functionality that a client will have access to after migrating and the benefits of that functionality to them,

    – The timing involved with adding the capability to the Convio platform that the client was accustomed to in GetActive,

    – The timing involved with the development of data migration tools that will move the client’s GetActive transactional data into Convio, and

    – The ability for clients to attend training to gain familiarity and mastery of the Convio platform.
