  So what happened to September's list? Consider September's list to be the prototype for an upcoming list that I will present shortly. I've made some radical changes to this list in order to accommodate my new criteria.   Peter Gulka has launched the Blackbaud User Society. The Blackbaud User Society is a next step in the evolution of the RE Users Forum. It's a very nicely done Joomla site that really enhances the ecology surrounding Blackbaud. With blackbus.org and blogbaud.com, Raiser's Edge users are now getting a taste of what it's like to have a strong support infrastructure that stands above and beyond the typical technical support that you get from Blackbaud.   Go over to http://integrationproclamation.com/ and check out the call for better data integration from many people in the nptech community. This petition apparently came from a 12/2 meeting over at RootscampDC I'll probably sign up but I want to sign up using my org's name not this blog (I'll get into that later in this post).   Bill Regehr, CIO of Boys and Girls Club of America, wrote a guest article for CIO Magazine. I love how he works with an IT budget of $3 milion but it's still considered midmarket. There are tons of nonprofits smaller than BGCA's IT budget. Even so, it looks Mr. Regehr has the same problems with vendor lock-in that all the rest of us smaller IT director types run into.   Last week, Gabi Fitz from issuelab.com contacted me asking if I would take a look at issuelab.com. I get these offers from time to time but I don't always follow up but what I saw just really impressed me. What you get when you go to the site is an online library of research materials from numerous non-profits. I had a lot of questions though because when I referred the site to my non-profit's staff members responsible for research materials they talked about issues of the time it would take to post to the site.   I've been reading a lot of blogs lately about how inefficient and screwed-up nonprofits are but take a look at Amnesty International's latest ad campaign. The original link is at adland.
