I had the great luck to be pulled into the 2nd Annual Brooklyn Blogfest by my friend Silvio Galea whose good-looking mug allowed him to plug his blog at geekoutsummit.com. One thing TV loves are photogenic faces, the other female blogger plugging her blog on TV was attractive as well. We all know TV viewers LOVE those cute bloggers.

But to those of you who came here because of the NY Times article on Brooklyn Blogfest, welcome! I write about nonprofit technology. It sounds like an oxymoron but it isn’t. I’m the outgoing IT Director for the Coalition for the Homeless and I’m doing a nonprofit tech startup as well. Strangely enough, I’ve never really thought about making the actual location of where I write a major issue on the blog. However, I live (and now work) in the Sunset Park section of Brooklyn. I even help take care of the Wikipedia entry for my neighborhood. And now, I’m officially calling myself a Brooklyn blogger.

And really, many thanks to Louise Crawford for organizing the event (and letting me in even if I was too lame to RSVP)!

So… don’t be surprised if I put something in about Sunset Park or even better, do a mini-blog or Twitters about my neighborhood.
