Big study with the numbers on online engagement by Convio

Ok… This is straight from the press release.

AUSTIN, TEXAS (March 13, 2007) Convio, Inc., in partnership with StrategicOne, LLC, have conducted the nonprofit sector’s first comprehensive study quantifying the impact of online engagement (eCRM) and multi-channel marketing on overall giving. The data, presented at the DMANF conference in Washington, DC, shows that online engagement improves how much offline (direct mail) donors give each year and the rate at which they renew (retention rates) even if they continue to give solely in the mail. If they opt to give online as well, i.e. become multi-channel, their rate of giving and retention rate increases further.

I’d love to read the study but don’t feel like signing over my contact info to them. Sigh. Good study but, to me, not a good relationship building device. I’ve never liked signing up to download a PDF. The object here for Convio should be about mindshare and not lead generation. If any of you more fearless readers want to e-mail the PDF to abenamer@nonprofittechblog.org, you will get my undying thanks as well as cred in my next post.
